the stuff that doesn't make it onto a resume.
combat vet. former cop. current dad.
perpetually tired, chronically curious.
my office is a very specific kind of chaos,
challenge coins, military awards, 40K miniatures,
a GameCube, an original Xbox, and two bearded dragons
judging me from across the room.
the little one in the toy car doing 3mph
while we blow bubbles is the best part of any day.
no contest.
the updated task system was a good call. streamlines the grind for new and returning players. still not sure where Mad Finger Games is taking this long-term. going up against Tarkov with a persistent world is an ambitious swing and the optimization still needs work, but these devs put in work and it shows. been here since v0.0.1 and not going anywhere.
physics sandbox sci-fi shipbuilding. build something inspired by The Expanse, watch it immediately fail structurally. repeat indefinitely.
played since before most current players were in high school. no regrets. mostly.
malware analysis and CTFs from someone who genuinely knows what they're doing
100-second explainers that somehow make complex things land
unhinged performance engineering opinions. usually correct
hardware hacking, Wi-Fi tools, war rigs. directly responsible for several purchases I do not regret
homelab and cyber content worth the time
DFIR walkthroughs, solid fundamentals
security content, good follow
networking and ethical hacking deep dives
righteous chaos. watch at least one video
the Deftones. always.
and anything from that late 90s / early 2000s window
when rock was doing something genuinely interesting:
Tool. System of a Down. Smashing Pumpkins. Alice in Chains.
that era specifically.
the idea that you can build systems that think, decide, and act on your behalf is one of the more interesting things happening in any field right now.
spending serious time here. reading, building, breaking things, building them better.
what's in rotation:
blame a military buddy with similar tendencies and a channel called Call Me Koko.
conventions: DEF CON. CactusCon. BSides. hardware badges. soldering iron. the usual.
